Q. Who is eligible to be seen at St. Clare Health Mission?
A. Patients must meet eligibility requirements which are;
Have no insurance of any kind & not be eligible for any public or private insurance
Fall within 150% of federal poverty guidelines
Reside in La Crosse, Monroe, Houston, Vernon or Trempleau County
Q. What are the hours and can patients make an appointment to be seen?
A. Patients may register to be seen on a 1st come 1st serve basis on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. or until the patient limit of 35 has been reached. Appointments are not necessary.
Q. Does St. Clare Health Mission provide Dental care?
A. St. Clare Health Mission is not a provider of dental services. We suggest calling your local Health Department for info regarding assistance with dental needs.
Q. What if a patient needs care beyond what St. Clare Health Mission offers?
A. St. Clare physicians under the direction of the director of St. Clare have a referral process in place which allows some medical treatment not available at St. Clare Health Mission to be done at Franciscan Skemp or Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.
Q. Does St. Clare Health Mission provide assistance with medications?
A. Medications written at St. Clare Health Mission can be filled for free at our on site pharmacy. Patients will be assisted in completing applications for free medicine from pharmaceutical companies.
Q. Does St. Clare Health Mission prescribe or provide any narcotics?
A. St. Clare Health Mission is a narcotic free zone and DOES NOT prescribe or fill any narcotic prescriptions.
Q. Do patients need to provide any income documentation?
A. Various income documentation is required by pharmaceutical companies. To receive assistance with medications we request that patients bring their last two pay stubs and a copy of their most recent tax return. If you are not working or do not file taxes bring any other income documentation that you have such as; Social security income, unemployment, etc. If the patient has filed for disability or medical assistance they should bring proof of application or denial.
